2016 Autumn/Winter

In the new Fall/Winter Collection, moon top abandons the existing mode of emulation in the Spring/Summer Collection by returning to the physical Self from the Other in nature, exploring bodily structure and muscle definition. The autonomous creativity of bones and muscles becomes a tangible and ordinary state; the change of structure and the space of short muscle movement are thus reconstructed through visualization and the transformation into three dimensional space.

On the cloth of disoriented threads, we construct deformed curves to highlight body parts and make them blend into the flat surface. Using thread traces of bright colors and irregular shapes, we add a sense of three dimensionality onto the one dimensional plane, creating a spontaneous sense of momentum and balancing movement and stillness.

The space between muscles and bones are filled with a sense of gentleness. The gentleness of silk is intertwined with wool, cashmere, sheepskin and knit, partly hidden near waist and cuffs.

The bones and muscles are arranged with fine density. They maintain a mutual tension and peaceful balance. We use a new pressing technique to separate spaces with colored threads, and utilize the sense of volume of down feather to create a fluffy and light space. The concept of "empty" space in traditional Chinese binding technique and the artistry of installation in contemporary Western color patterns are mutually inclusive and exclusive; an upright bamboo stands in the middle of the rich down-feather space.
