2014 Autumn/Winter

Inspired by an everyday scene: black frames leaning on white stairs. They are depicted in different arrangements, perspectives, unintentional interweaving of lines and planes, and simple, pure collision of colors. Patterns, layers and color contrasts abstracted from simple images are resources for the development of this collection. The overall shape is a combination of pictorial elements and details; the color tones featuring carbon black and plaster white while complemented by cherry red, not only increase the sense of perspective in the collection but also maintain a quiet and calm temperature. The collection uses silk to reflect a rhythmic, ephemeral intangibility under natural light, and form a strong contrast with the firm shape, adding a fresh sense of breath into the bleak autumn days; blacks and whites are present throughout the entire collection. Used either in blocks or details, these two colors conform the expression of themes: to feel the passion and awe for life with a Zen mindset, and to imply a pursuit for eternity.
